A transfomational reset... Step 1


hey Reader,

I have been doing some thinking lately about why people are not action-takers but I don't think I can point to one thing and click my fingers like Thanos and suddenly it's solved.

Instead, let me address the execution.

You are not where you want to be, and you don't know how to not be there...

A transformational reset is required...

So today's e-mail is step 1.

Nothing matters from this point on if you don't tick this box. See, the biggest liar in the world is ourselves. We tell ourselves lies to avoid facing reality. To exit a low-energy life and start living with energy, you must accept where you are already.

Until you’ve had enough, you won’t put in the work to become more than enough. Here are the steps you need to follow to push the mind’s reset button.

Your mission, if you choose to accept it.

1. Brainstorm all the reasons you need this reset

Open a new note in your favourite note-taking app. Write down all the reasons you need a reset. Here’s my list from way back:

  • I’m wasting my life doing something I don't enjoy
  • I’m am getting burned out and angry with life
  • I'm not appreciating the small things in life.

2. Make a decision Your list of ideas is the evidence you need. Read them back. The answer should be obvious — it’s time to make a decision!

If today is the day you want to change, you must decide. Once you make the decision that you’ve had enough, you can move forward.

3. Tell someone

You’re a liar, remember? You need leverage. Tell one person close to you what you’ve decided. The more people you tell, the more leverage you will have against yourself to take action and follow through.

4. Post it on social media

Nothing stops the lies you tell yourself better than posting, on social media, what you’ve decided. Here’s an example:

Today I’ve decided to improve my life. From now on, I am no longer drinking, I will keep a journal, I will seek help, I will exercise daily and I will focus on being more kind to each of you. If you see me break this commitment, I want you to hold me accountable and confront me. If I break my commitment, I want you to give me the appropriate penalty. Thank you.

Now you have leverage over yourself. The transformation starts now.
